St. Patricks Day Plum Slate Harp
Our Irish harp was standing proudly on display again this weekend in celebration of St. Patricks Day.
Our Irish harp is made entirely from our very own plum slate.
O’Neill’s Plum Slate serves a variety of functions.
Plum Slate Mulch – Decorative Stone for Gardens is ideal for the home as it inhibits unwanted weed growth and helps prevent weeds from breaking through the soil. Slate is heavier than wood chips or bark mulch that are easily blown about the garden by a strong wind, reducing maintenance time and keeping your garden tidy.
Slate stone is a natural slug repellent as the sharp edges discourage slugs from crossing them, a perfect solution for DIY Gardeners who want to grown their own organic vegetables or herb patch at home, but don’t want to spray their crops with toxic weed killer or slug repellents.
O’Neill’s Irish plum slate keeps the ground from drying out in warm conditions, but is also ideal for wet conditions as it does not store water. Bark mulch can act as a sponge staying damp constantly in bad weather. This can lead to roots and plants rotting. When using O’Neill’s plum slate this will never prove an issue.
Gravel or pebbles don’t hold well on slopes or inclines but Plum Slate Mulch is ideal because of its shape and weight, it does not slide and will stay in place. Finbarr O’Neill has supplied Plum Slate Mulch for decorative coverings for road-side embankments, traffic circles, business premises and gardening exhibits.
Plum Slate comes in 4 sizes: 1/4″ (6mm), 1/2″ (14mm), 3/4″ (20mm) and 1 1/2″ (40mm).
